Isa ibn Salman Al Khalifah, who ruled Bahrain from 1961 until 1999, is the subject of the name Isa.

Past Events
Isa Town is home to many educated middle class Bahrainis and consists mostly of luxurious freshly built villas. It was one of the few constituencies in Bahrain that was not fully represented by an Islamist or right-wing MP in the 2002 election; Abdnabi Salman, a former communist, won the seat. Dr. Munira Fakhro, a former Harvard academic, was defeated by Sunni Islamist Dr. Salah Ali of Al-Menbar Islamic Society in a contentious election in 2006.
