A city in Belarus’s Brest Region is called Pinsk (Belarusian). Despite being administratively independent of the district, it functions as Pinsk District’s administrative hub. It is situated near the meeting point of the Pripyat and Pina rivers in the ancient area of Polesia. Located southwest of Minsk, the area was formerly known as the Pinsk Marshes. Its population is 124,295 as of 2024.
