One of Slovakia’s administrative regions is the Bratislava Region. Bratislava is its capital. The region was officially defined in 1923, and as of 1996, its current borders have been in place. Of Slovakia’s eight regions, this one is the smallest but also the most developed, urbanized, and productive in terms of GDP per capita.
