The city experiences reasonably warm summers and chilly winters due to its temperate oceanic environment.

Prague, with its rich history and impressive examples of Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architecture, is a major political, cultural, and economic center of Central Europe. It served as the capital of the Kingdom of Bohemia and the home of a number of Holy Roman Emperors, including Rudolf II (1575–1611) and Charles IV (1346–1378).
