Known by its anglicized name Mecklenburg–Western Pomerania, or Mäkelborg-Vörpommern in Low German, is a state in northeastern Germany. Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is the sixteenth largest state in terms of size in Germany, with 23,300 km2 (9,000 sq mi) under its belt. Its population density is sixteenth out of the sixteen states in the nation. The largest city is Rostock, and the state capital is Schwerin. Wismar, Güstrow, Greifswald, Neubrandenburg, and Stralsund are a few more significant cities. It was given the names Mecklenburg and Fore Pomerania in honor of the two regions.
