Within India’s Andaman and Nicobar islands group is the island of Chowra. In the Indian Ocean, it is situated to the south of Battimalv Island and to the north of Teressa Island. It goes by the names Choura, Tatat, and Sanenyo as well.

Past Events
The 2004 tsunami and earthquake in the Indian Ocean severely damaged the island.
Geography: Generally flat, the island’s southernmost point features a rocky hill rising to a height of 104.5 meters. Around 1.5 miles out from the island’s northwest coast are coral reefs.
