In the northern region of Middle Andaman Island, in the Andaman Archipelago of India, is the town and tehsil of Mayabunder. Another way to spell the name is Maya Bunder or Maya Bandar. There were 23,912 people living in the county as of 2001, with 3182 of them living in the town. During the British colonial era, immigrants from Myanmar and former prisoners from Mainland India settled there.

The North and Middle Andaman district, which is a component of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, has its administrative center in Mayabunder.[2]

Geography The Andaman Trunk Road (242 km) and the ferry (136 km) connect Mayabunder with Port Blair.
