In the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, Srikakulam is both a city and the district headquarters. Its population was 165,735 at the 2011 census. The Srikakulam District is home to numerous more Buddhist tourist destinations, including Salihundam, Kalinga Patnam, Dabbaka Vaani Peta, Nagari Peta, Jagati Metta, Singupuram, etc. Salihundam, a Buddhist heritage site, has a few distinctive characteristics. It boasts a museum with more than two dozen sculpted statues and sculptures of Buddha, Jain Teerthankars, and other deities, as well as a rock-cut enormous stupa inside Chaitya grihas, brick stupas with a wheel pattern plan, votive stupas, and inscriptions on the steps leading to the stupas.
