The Indian state of Andhra Pradesh contains the city of Tenali in the Guntur district. In addition to being the mandal and revenue division headquarters for Tenali, it is a municipality.[The city is known for its drama, art, and culture, which is why it is called Andhra Paris.With 199,345 residents as of 2011, it ranks twelfth among the state’s most populous towns and is one of the twelve urban local bodies in the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region. The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) includes Tenali Town as well.

Tenali was the birthplace of Tenali Rama, one of the eight poets and jesters of the Vijayanagara emperor Krishnadevaraya in the early 16th century.
