Mangaldoi, pronounced [mɔŋɔldoɪ] in Assamese, is a town in the Indian state of Assam. It is also sometimes spelled Mangaldai. It bears the name Mangaldahi in honor of the Raja of Darrang’s daughter. She was married to the Ahom kingdom’s King Susenghphaa (r. 1603–1641), often known as Pratap Singha. The Darrang district’s administrative center is located in Mangaldoi. Located about 70 kilometers east of Guwahati, the state capital of Assam.
