In India’s state of Bihar, the town and Nagar Panchayat of Dighwara are located in the Saran district. Dighwara’s name most likely comes from the word “Dirgh-dwar,” which means “large gate,” since it is believed to be the gateway to the fabled city of King Daksha. The Raghuvanshis ruled it as a Feudal Estate during British Rule. The town is situated along the Ganges River’s banks. There are plans to build a road bridge across the Ganges between Dighwara and Danapu.
