In Bihar, India’s Nalanda District, there is a Nagar panchayat called Harnaut along with a corresponding block. Harnaut is close to the pilgrimage sites of Nalanda, Pawapuri, Rajgir, Bodh Gaya, and Vaishali, which are for Hindus, Buddhists, and Jainites. Nitish Kumar, the current chief minister of Bihar, originates from the village of Kalyan Bigha, which is close to Harnaut.
