In the Indian state of Bihar, the town of Haveli Kharagpur is one of the three subdivisions in the Munger district. In the past, it served as the hub of the Kharagpur Raj chieftaincy throughout the Middle Ages.

The coordinates of Haveli Kharagpur are 25.12°N 86.55°E. It is 48 meters (157 feet) above sea level on average. Only 20 kilometers separate it from the Bariarpur railway station in the north, 30 kilometers from Jamui railway station in the south, and 14 kilometers from Tarapur in the east. It is well accessible from all three directions (the fourth, or the west side, contains the forest). Because of its proximity to the Jamalpur Hills and slightly higher elevation than Munger, it never experiences flooding. Little hills encircle it, providing views of this
