In the Indian state of Bihar, Imamganj is a city and the block headquarters for the Gaya district. Additionally, it is a part of the Aurangabad Lok Sabha constituency and a Bihar Legislative Assembly seat in the Magadh division.[3] It is situated 65 kilometers west of Gaya, the Bihar district seat, on the state boundary with Jharkhand. Raja Imam Bux Khan of Sherghati is the source of the name.

The Imamganj block comprises 195 villages and 7 village panchayats, with an area of 61708.52 sq acres.[4] There were 1,864 people living there as per the 2011 Indian Census, 951 of them were men and 913 women.
