One of Bihar State, India’s thirty-eight districts is Jehanabad District. The administrative center of this district is located in Jehanabad town. Situated at the meeting point of the Yamunaiya and Dardha minor rivers, Jehanabad district is a component of the Magadh Division.

The past
In 1872, the area that is now the district was incorporated into the Gaya district as the Jehanabad sub-division. On August 1, 1986, the district was established. It is encircled by Gaya in the south, Patna in the north, Arwal in the west, and Nalanda in the east.
