Mahania is a city in the Kaimur district of Bihar, India, along with a matching community development block. It functions as the Mohania sub-division’s headquarters in the Kaimur district. It is located at the intersection of National Highway 19 (former NH-2), NH-219, and NH-319, 17 km (11 mi) north of Bhabua. Just south of Mohania is the Durgavati River’s bank. There were 32,198 families and 218,479 people living in the block overall.

The center of the Kaimur district’s transportation network is Mohania. The Kaimur district is home to Mundeshawari Devi, a well-known temple.
