The Indian state of Bihar’s Tirhut area contains the city of Muzaffarpur, which is situated in the Muzaffarpur district.[5][1] It functions as the central office for the Muzaffarpur district, the Muzaffarpur Railway District, and the Tirhut division. In Bihar, it is the fourth most populated city.

Muzaffarpur, also referred to as the Lychee Kingdom, is well-known for Shahi litchis. Shahi lychee is the fourth product from Bihar to receive a Geographical Indication (GI) label, following jardalu mango, katarni rice, and Magahi paan (betel leaf). Situated along the perennial Budhi Gandak River, which originates from the Someshwar Hills in the Himalayas, is the city.
