The city of Patna, sometimes referred to as Patna Saheb or Patna Sahib, is one of the six Tehsils (subdivisions) in the Patna district of Bihar, India. An historic part of Patna is Patna City. The history of Patna City is Patliputra’s. The Sikhs of India hold it in the highest regard.There was the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru of the Sikhs. Among the five “Takhts” or Sikh places of authority, the Patna Saheb Gurudwara is regarded as one of the holiest. Although the Sikhs reverently refer to it as Patna Sahib, the location is known as Harminder Takht. For Sikhs worldwide, the renowned Guru Gobind Sahib Gurudwara is a sacred site.[3] Patna City and Patna are connected via the Ashok Rajpath (road).
