The Patna High Court has its headquarters in Patna as well. In addition to being close to the Buddhist, Hindu, and Jain pilgrimage sites of Vaishali, Rajgir, Nalanda, Bodh Gaya, and Pawapuri, Patna City is revered by Sikhs as the birthplace of the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh.The southern bank of the Ganges River is home to the majority of the contemporary city of Patna.
