In India’s Bihar state, Phulwari, also known as Phulwari Sharif, is a town and block located in the Patna district. It is one of the urban Patna areas that is expanding the fastest and is a part of the Patna Metropolitan Region. The city has a long history of civilization that begins with the development of Sufi culture in India. The majority of Sufi saints of that era visited Phulwari Sharif, which is well-known for its historic mosques and Islamic spiritual dargah.

Phulwari Sharif is home to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Patna (AIIMS Patna). Phulwari Sharif, once the most inhabited area of Patna, has been overtaken by urbanization. One of the Patna neighborhoods having a preponderance of Muslims is Phulwari Sharif.
