An administrative district called Sheohar (pronounced Shivahar) is located in Bihar, India’s Mithila region. The district is a part of Tirhut Division, and its headquarters are in Sheohar. In 1994, this district was separated from Sitamarhi district as a result of the ardent efforts of former Union Minister Raghunath Jha. The first district magistrate of Sheohar was Dr. Bhagwati Sharan Mishra, a renowned novelist in Hindi. In the Mehsi town of his day, which is still in East Champaran under the name Raja Bazar, Sivas formerly had a guest house.There are 656,246 people living in the district, which has a population of 349 km 2 as of 2011.
