The most fun I ever had as a child was participating in the yearly Holi Festival. Hindus celebrate Holi, a festival of colors, once a year in March. Furthermore, I grew up in a Hindu home and was enthralled with the show that accompanied Holi celebrations.
The joyousness and carefreeness of the Indian color festival is among its most striking features. It’s just going to be a fantastic day. As a child, I didn’t enjoy being hauled to the temple, but on Holi, I made an exception. I could always get on board with tossing colors while dashing around.
What is the festival of Holi?
Every spring, Hindus celebrate the holiday of Holi. It’s all about fresh starts; Holi celebrates the end of winter and ushers in the spring. Every year, on Purnima, or the day of the full moon, the Holi festival takes place. Holika Dahan is a two-day holiday that falls on the day before the full moon. At that point, a puja (or prayer) is held around a bonfire. The purpose of the bonfire is purging all negativity and evil. The festival of colors takes place the following day, right after the full moon.
