The Indian state of Gujarat saw the creation of the Aravalli district on August 15, 2013, making it the 29th district in the state. The Sabarkantha district has been divided into this new district. The district office is located in Modasa.[1]

Meaning and Origin
The Aravalli Hills that stretch over Gujarat and Rajasthan are the reason behind the district’s name The districts of Danta, Modasa, and Shamlaji are traversed by the Arasur branch of Aravalis, according to documents filed with the Gujarati government.
