One of the 33 districts of Gujarat state in western India is Mehsana district (alternative spelling: “Mahesana”). This district’s administrative center is located in Mehsana City. The district spans more than 4,500 km2 and is home to more than 1.8 million people. This district has more than 600 communities and 2,035,064 residents, of which 22.40% lived in urban areas as of 2011.

Mehsana district shares boundaries with the following districts: Sabarkantha district in the east, Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad district in the south, Patan and Surendranagar district in the west, and Banaskantha district in the north.

Mehsana, Vijapur, Bahucharaji, Satlasana, Modhera, Unjha, Vadnagar, Kalol, Kadi, Visnagar, Kherva, Jotana, and Kheralu are some of the district’s major towns.
