The Indian state of Gujarat has the town of Tharad (formerly known as Thirpur), which is located in the Tharad taluka of the Banaskantha district. It is Tharad Taluka’s administrative hub. Tharad is located 15 kilometers from the Indian state of Rajasthan, 40 km from the border with Pakistan, and close to the Gujarati border. Diamond polishing and agriculture are its two primary industries. Located on National Highway 15, it’s one of Gujarat’s first significant towns.
