One of the 22 districts in the northern Indian state of Haryana is Jhajjar district. It was formed on July 15, 1997, out of the Rohtak district. Its headquarters are in Jhajjar, and it is located 29 kilometers (18 miles) from Delhi. Over time, it has grown into a significant industrial hub. The districts of Badli, Beri, and Bahadurgarh are other towns. The state’s and the district’s largest city is Bahadurgarh. We refer to Bahadurgarh as ‘The City of Destiny’. It was a village fifty years ago, called Beri.

The district has 709,000 residents as of 2001, spread throughout 1,834 square kilometers (708 sq mi).
