One of the 22 districts of Haryana in northern India is called Panipat district (pronunciation). The district’s administrative center is located in the historic city of Panipat. With a total size of 1,268 km2 (490 sq mi), the district is the nineteenth largest in the state, behind Gurugram and Panchkula.
