In the Jammu area of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, Reasi district serves as an administrative district within the Jammu division. The Reasi district shares borders with the districts of Ramban and Udhampur in the east, Jammu in the south, Rajouri in the west, and Kulgam in the north. When the princely state joined India in 1947, the Reasi and Rajouri tehsils united to form a single district known as the “Reasi district”. The two tehsils were divided and Reasi was combined with the Udhampur district as part of the reorganization. In 2006, it separated once more into a district.
