Khunti district is one of the twenty-four districts in the Jharkhand state of India’s South Chotanagpur division. On September 12, 2007, the district of Ranchi was divided into the district of Khunti. It is Jharkhand’s second-least populated district (out of 24) as of 2011. The least populated district is Lohardaga.[1] The district’s headquarters are located in Khunti Town. It has a long history of being the hub of the Birsa movement and the birthplace of Birsa Munda. The State Capital Region (SCR) includes it. [2][3]
At the moment, the district is a component of the Red Corridor.
