The northernmost region of India’s Karnataka state is the Bidar district. The district’s administrative center is located in Bidar City. It occupies the northeastern extremity of the state, resembling the “Crown of the State” in terms of geography. Its borders are as follows: on the east are the districts of Kamareddy and Sangareddy in Telangana; on the west are the districts of Latur and Osmanabad in Maharashtra; on the north are the districts of Nanded in Maharashtra; and on the south are the districts of Kalaburagi in Maharashtra.

Eight talukas make up the Bidar district: Humnabad, Bhalki, Aurad, Hulsoor, Chitgoppa, Kamalnagar, and Basavakalyan. Bidar serves as the district center. Highways NH-9 and NH-218 link to the Bidar district.
