In the Indian state of Karnataka, the southernmost district is called Chamarajanagar, or Chamarajanagara. In 1998, it was divided from the erstwhile, bigger Mysore District. The district’s headquarters is located in the town of Chamarajanagar.

After Kodagu and Bangalore Rural, it is the third least populated district in Karnataka (out of 30).
