Southern India’s Karnataka state includes the administrative district of Chitradurga. The district office is located in Chitradurga. Chitradurga is named for the tall, umbrella-shaped hill located there, Chitrakaldurga. Chitradurga District’s historical roots may be traced back to the Ramayana and Mahabharata eras. The Tungabhadra River flows to the northwest, and the entire district is located in the valley of the Vedavati River. It was known as Chitaldroog while it was a British colony. Practically all of the well-known Karnataka families governed the district. historical sites such as the Jain basadi of Heggere, which serves as a district-wide Jain pilgrimage center.
