In the Udupi district of Karnataka, India, Karkala, sometimes referred to as Karla in Tulu, is a town and the seat of Karkala Taluk. It is situated close to the Western Ghats’ foothills in the Tulu Nadu region of the state, roughly 60 kilometers from Mangalore.
