Located in the Karnataka state of India, Kodagu district (Kodava: [koɖɞɡɨ]), formerly called Coorg, is an administrative district. It was an administratively independent Coorg State until 1956[4], when it was incorporated into a larger Mysore State.

Geographical
Situated on the Eastern Slopes of the Western Ghats lies Kodagu. Geographically speaking, it is 4,102 km2 (1,584 sq mi).[
