Known by its formal name, Koppala district, it is an administrative district located in the Indian state of Karnataka. Koppal was formerly known as “Kopana Nagara.” A portion of Koppala District lies under the World Heritage Site of Hampi. It is located about 38 kilometers away. Another well-known tourist site is Anegundi.
