In the Indian state of Karnataka, the town of Nanjangud—officially known as Nanjanagudu—is located in the Mysuru district. Nanjangud is located 23 miles from the city of Mysore, on the banks of the Kapila (also known as the Kabini) river. Because of the Srikanteshwara Temple, Nanjangud is well-known. Another name for Nanjangud is Dakshina Kashi, or southern Kashi. This village is particularly well-known for producing the Nanjanagoodu rasabale, a variety of banana that is grown nearby.Devirammanahalli and Kallahalli village were added to Nanjangud’s local administrative unit in 2015, resulting in the designation of the group as a Municipal Committee.
