In the Indian state of Kerala, Ponnani is a municipality located in Ponnani Taluk, Malappuram District. It functions as the Taluk and Block Panchayat of the same name’s administrative hub. It is surrounded by a chain of brackish lagoons to the south and the Arabian Sea to the west. It is located in the estuary of the River Ponnani, also known as Bharatappuzha.
