The capital city of the Indian state of Kerala is called Thiruvananthapuram, or TVM for short. It was once known as Trivandrum. As of 2011, the population of this city in Kerala was 957,730, making it the most populous. The population of the entire urban agglomeration is approximately 1.68 million.Thiruvananthapuram, a major information technology hub in Kerala, is situated on the west coast of India, close to the southernmost point of the continent. As of 2016, 55% of Kerala’s software exports come from this location. Mahatma Gandhi referred to this city as the “Evergreen city of India” because of its low coastal hills and undulating topography.
