One of Kerala’s fourteen districts is Thrissur, often known as Trichur. It is located in the state’s center region. Approximately 9% of Kerala’s population resides in the district, which covers an area of roughly 3,032 km2 (1,171 sq mi).

The districts of Ernakulam and Idukki to the south, Palakkad and Malappuram to the north, and Coimbatore to the east encircle the Thrissur district. The Western Ghats extend eastward while the Arabian Sea is to the west. It is a portion of the old Malabar Coast, which has long been involved in international trade. Malayalam is the primary language spoken there.
