The district of Harda is located in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The district office is located in the town of Harda. The division of Narmadapuram includes the district. In 1998, the Harda district was established. ‘Hridaynagari’ is another name for Harda (also “BHuana: Fertile Land”).

The district’s area is 2644 km2, and as of the 2011 census, its population is 570,465—a 20.25% increase from the 2001 census. The districts of Khandwa to Narmadapuram District, Betul to the southeast, Narmadapuram District to the northeast, and Sehore to the north define the boundaries of Harda District. It is a component of Madhya Pradesh’s Narmadapuram Division.
