Situated in the Chambal division, Morena district is one of the 53 districts that make up the state of Madhya Pradesh in central India.

Sections
The district of Morena is divided into four subdivisions: Sabalgarh, Joura, Ambah, and Morena. There is only one tehsil and one block in the Morena sub-division: Morena. Ambah and Porsa are the two tehsils and blocks that make up the Ambah sub-division. Joura tehsil, which is further separated into the blocks of Joura and Pahargarh, makes up the Joura sub-division. There are two tehsils and blocks in the Sabalgarh sub-division: Sabalgarh & Kailaras.

Six Vidhan Sabha constituencies in the district are Ambah, Joura, Sumawali, Morena, Dimani, and Sabalgarh. These are all included in the Morena Lok Sabha constituency Gwalior Airport is the closest public airport.
