Central India’s Madhya Pradesh state is home to Vidisha District. The district’s administrative center is located in the city of Vidisha.

Geographical
The districts of Raisen to the south, Bhopal to the southwest, Ashoknagar to the northeast, Sagar to the east, and Guna to the northwest encircle the district.

Located off the main Vindhyachal Range on the Vindhyachal Plateau is the Vidisha district. The Betwa, Bina, and Sindh rivers are some of the rivers that drain the plateau, which slopes from south to north. These rivers flow between the Vindhyachal Range’s spur flanges, which are dispersed over the Malwa Plateau.

The area is home to the Buddhist stupa at Sanchi as well as the medieval city of Besnagar.
