Known by its official name, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar district, Aurangabad is one of the 36 districts that make up the western Indian state of Maharashtra. Its boundaries are as follows: Ahmednagar to the south, Jalgaon to the north, Jalna to the east, and Nashik to the west. The district’s administrative center is located in the city of Aurangabad. With a total area of 10,100 km2, 37.55% of it is urban, and the remaining portion is rural. The Ajanta and Ellora Caves are two of the main tourist destinations in Marathwada’s Aurangabad District.
