The district of Jalgaon, pronounced in Marathi, is located in Maharashtra, India. Jalgaon city serves as its headquarters.

Its borders are as follows: to the north, the state of Madhya Pradesh; to the east, the districts of Buldhana; to the southeast, Jalna; to the south, Aurangabad; to the southwest, Nashik; and to the west, Dhule.In [2]

East Khandesh district (Devnagari) was the district’s previous name prior to October 10, 1960. In 1906, the British government divided the former Khandesh district into two districts, East Khandesh and West Khandesh. It was a part of the Bombay Presidency from 1906 until 1956, and from 1956 until 1960 it was known as the Bombay State.
