Manipur is an earthly paradise. “The Jeweled Land” is what it means literally. Manipur has an abundance of breathtaking natural scenery. Sangai, a unique kind of deer, and Siroy Lily, the sole terrestrial lily cultivated on Siroi Hill’s hilltops, call it home. According to St. Clair Grimwood, it’s “a pretty place, more beautiful than many show places of the world.” It was appropriately praised by the late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who called it the “Jewel of India”. Manipur’s borders are as follows: Upper Myanmar to the east, Mizoram to the south, Nagaland to the north, and the Assamese district of Cachar to the west. There are sixteen district administrations in Manipur.
