Northeastern India’s Kakching district is one of the state of Manipur’s sixteen districts. It was formerly a subdivision of the Thoubal district before it was created in 2016. The Thoubal district to the north, the Imphal West and Imphal East districts to the west, the Churchandpur and Bishnupur districts to the south, and the Ukhrul and Chandel districts to the east define the boundaries of the Kakching district.
