Manipur state, located in northeastern India, has sixteen districts, one of which is Thoubal. This district is bordered to the north by Imphal East, to the east by Kangpokpi and Tengnoupal districts, to the south by Kakching district, and to the west by Imphal West district. The district is 324 kilometers square. In 2011, the population numbered 286,687.[2] The district office is located in Thoubal Town. This area is well-known for Khongjom, the site of Manipur’s final independence war against the British troops in April 1891.
