Concerning Nagaland

One of India’s northeastern states is Nagaland. Its boundaries are Assam to the west and north, Arunachal Pradesh to the north, Manipur to the south, and Myanmar (formerly known as Burma) to the east.

With a total size of 16,579 square kilometers, Nagaland is one of India’s smallest states (6400 sq mi). This little state is carved out by the Naga Hills, with Saramati, at about 12,600 feet, serving as its highest point. This state is traversed by the Doyang, Dikhu, Dhansiri, and Jhanji rivers. Large river valleys sever the steep, heavily wooded terrain. The variety of flora and animals is abundant.
