One of the thirty districts in Odisha, India, is the administrative and municipal district known as Boudh District. The city of Boudh serves as the district headquarters for the Boudh District.

Uncertainty surrounds Boudh’s early history. Based on the finding of Buddhist relics, historians now consider Boudh to have been a significant Buddhist center. Inscriptions suggest that the Boudh region was ruled by the Bhanja and a part of Khinjali Mandala in the middle of the eighth century CE.
