Subarnapur District, also known as Sonepur District or Sonapur District, is an administrative district in the eastern Indian state of Odisha. The district headquarters is located in the town of Sonpur. Sonepur is also known as the Mandiramalini town (city of temples) of Odisha, home to over a hundred temples. The people living in the Sonepur region are called Sonepuria. Sonepur has been revered as a holy city since ancient times.
